AMERICANS ARE ALLOWING A SIX TIME BANKRUPT FORMER SO-CALLED CASINO MAGNATE TO GAMBLE WITH THEIR LIVES AND THEY ARE LOSING

“You’ve got to know when to hold ’em, Know when to fold ’em. Know when to walk away. And know when to run. You never count your money when you’re sittin’ at the table. There’ll be time enough for countin’ when the dealin’s done. Songwriters: Don Schlitz © Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC
The takeaway from the Kenny Rogers song, “The Gambler,” is that a person should know his or her limitations. That a sensible, reasonable person would make an informed decision whether to continue to “Buck the Tiger’s Odds” (a term of the Faro card game) and risk losing everything-including their lives- or to quit while they are ahead based on the evidence before them.
The game of chance that Americans dealt themselves into when they elected Donald Trump to be the 45th President of the United States in 2016 is turning out to be just as many who had followed Trump’s overly hyped career predicted. That just like Trump had bankrupted many of his businesses, he would ultimately bankrupt America. But now the cost is not being measured in dollars alone but also in the loss of more than one-hundred-thousand American lives and counting.
For a broader perspective on the way that Trump operates consider the term “cutting the pot.” This is a term used to describe how a person who sponsors a card game in his or her establishment is allowed a share of the final pot in a card game. For instance, if the final pot is $500 the sponsor (Cut Man) is allowed a 25% share or $125. This way, if the ‘Cut Man’ decides to participate in the game and loses, he/she still comes out on top by obtaining the cut.
This is how Trump operates. He very seldom participates in anything that he initiates or sponsors. Instead, he will stand by and watch as players devour one another for the spoils of power all the while ruining their reputations. Meanwhile, Trump, the ‘(Cut Man’) benefits financially from the chaos he creates. Case in point. Does anyone know where the $2 trillion dollars of relief monies are over which Trump fired the Inspector General who was charged in overseeing its distribution? The ‘Cut Man’ knows.
The ‘Cut Man’ has, since his time in office, stood by and watched the sniffling sycophantic behavior of house republicans that has allowed the ‘Cut Man’ to unlawfully charge American taxpayers for military members to stay at his golf course overseas as well as continuing to profit from his hotel in Washington, DC, and his golf course in Florida, all violations of the Emoluments Clause. And while republicans fight over a sycophantic seat at the card table the ‘Cut Man’ just stands by and rakes in the millions. It’s always about ‘What’s in it for me’?
That ethos might have, according to the ‘Cut Man’s’ lapdogs, been harmless when it was only money. Now however, it’s the lives of Americans that the ‘Cut Man’ is gambling with. The lives of Americans are on the table and they are being lost to an unbiased dealer in an unbiased game of chance. As an unscrupulous ‘Cut Man’ stands by and ask, “What’s in it for me.? As he watches the chaos, he refuses to abate by participating.
Trump once quipped while discussing the Coronavirus, “What have you got to lose?” Answer, Americans, one-hundred-thousand and counting. The ‘Cut Man’, zero.
It’s time to fold ‘em America. It’s time to walk away. It’s time to run.
