A would-be car thief got the beating of his life from a 65-year-old grandmother in Gainesville, Florida. It all started when Clarese Gainey heard a noise outside her apartment and grabbed a baseball bat to investigate. When she slowly opened her door, the former high school softball player saw Antonio Mosely, breaking into her car. She went into action and Mosley got the ever living hell beaten out of him when charged at Gainey.
“I grabbed my bat, I braced myself, and I ease the door open. I took that bat and hit him upside the head like ‘pi-yah!’ He said “Owwww!” she told local media outlet WGFL.
When Mosely, who weighs 300lbs, caught “these hands” and a baseball bat from Gainey, it literally knocked him out of his clothes. He fled the scene of his granny beatdown, leaving behind his pants, shirt, and a sock. Police deployed a K9 unit and Mosely’s scent was easily tracked to a nearby mobile home park. When police found him he was wearing a new pair of pants that had cocaine in his pocket. Officers then took Mosely back to the scene of the attempted car theft so Gainey could identify him.
Gainey identified Mosely and also pointed out to police the injury she delivered when she went upside his head. She went on to tell the local news WGFL, “He better be glad I didn’t have a gun. Because I would have shot him. But this is my gun right here,” she said, pointing to her bat.
Mosely is being held in the Alachua County Jail with two counts of burglary and drug possession.
