PETULANCE VS PANDEMIC: HOW SATISFYING THE WHIMS OF A CHILDLIKE PRESIDENT CONTINUES TO ENDANGER AMERICANS

Let’s face it America. We have been suffering and continue to suffer the consequences of having a Commander-in-Chief with the temperament of a two-year old child. Watching excerpts- because I can never stomach more than sixty seconds of the man- of the President’s primetime prompter speech the other night, I could not help but once again notice how he struggles to read. It was painful to watch.
It’s a stark reminder of how, much like a child’s temper tantrum can gaslight a parent, Trump has gaslighted millions of Americans into taking his false claims of his intellectual genius seriously. When in fact what Trump really is, is a child whose petulant outbursts coupled with his powers as president has weakened America’s standing and more importantly in the face of a global pandemic, endangers Americans.
The dangers to which we are being exposed from sycophantic groveling, alternative facts influencers, and national security analyst officials’ reluctance to provide Trump with the truth are more evident now than ever before. When counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway quipped the other day that the coronavirus outbreak was being contained it exemplified a classic “give baby his bottle” moment.
Ignoring the fact that Trump had spewed lies about tests availability and then compared those illusional tests to his infamous phone call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, calling the tests “perfect” during the President’s visit to the CDC, Director Robert R. Redfield spent the initial part of his own remarks extolling Trump’s virtues and praising his handling of the outbreak here in the U.S.
In the interim, Americans are being gaslighted, misinformed, and told to not believe their lying eyes. Sadly, however, covid-19 cannot be gaslighted, is not driven by hate or disdain of a person’s religious beliefs, gender, sexual orientation, or the color of a person’s skin. Hopefully, come November America will give baby his bottle and put him to bed along with his hate-filled, narcissistic petulance.
During his visit to the CDC Trump also said, “I like this stuff. I really get it,” “People are surprised that I understand it. … Maybe I have a natural ability.”
Yeah, he has a natural ability alright.
