The Southern Maryland Minority Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (SMMCOC) will host The Southern Maryland Energy and Procurement Expo, “Exploring the Future of the Energy Sector” on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 , at 8:00am to 3:00pm in the Business and Industry Building, at the College of Southern Maryland, La Plata Campus.

Guest Speakers Include:

Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford
Delegate Sally Jameson, District 28, Charles County
Michael Leslie, Director of Energy & Sustainability, Maryland Department of Commerce

Featured Panel Discussions:

A Perspective of Energy in the State of Maryland – Energy leaders will discuss grants, rebates and financing options for Maryland businesses.

Energy Economic Development/Procurement Opportunities – Energy leaders will discuss economic development and procurement opportunities specific to Southern MD. Discussion will emphasize opportunities for small, minority and women-owned businesses.

The Utilities Perspective – Utility executives will discuss current projects in the pipeline and status, projects and energy growth on the horizon, energy trends, and workforce needs.

Exhibitor Expo – An opportunity to visit leaders of Energy Service Companies, Utilities, Suppliers, Associations, and Government officials to discuss energy sector opportunities.

The Southern Maryland Minority Chamber of Commerce, formally named the Southern Maryland Black Chamber of Commerce, exists to make the community a better place for all The SMMCOC is a proponent for business growth, as well as economic development and empowerment.
