Trey Songz is now a proud new papa!
The R&B crooner took to Instagram Thursday night to announce the arrival of his baby boy.
“My son Noah. We are blessed and overjoyed. Peace ,” Trey captioned a photo of the baby sleeping (see below).
Trey’s baby news prompted fellow celebrities to congratulate him on social media.
“Congrats champ,” Kevin Hart commented.
Marlon Wayans also added, “Congrats man! It’s the greatest feeling ever.”
The Virginia-born musician has long wanted to be a father, as he revealed in a 2005 interview with Charlemagne Tha God on The Breakfast Club.
“Man I want kids. I’ve been wanting children before you could even imagine. I raised all the kids in my family. My younger brother, he’s 20-years-old, he just had his first child,” he said. “I remember when he was a child. I used to burp him, change his diapers, now he got a baby.”
Charlemagne suggested he “just take the condom off,” but Songz wasn’t feeling that advice.
“Naw. I don’t think it’s that simple for me. You just want to take the condom off, that sounds a little crazy. It’s more to it than that, I would like to believe,” he said. “No, but I want kids, I want a family all of that. But I’m not in a rush to do it because people think that’s what should be happening in my life or that I need kids or my momma been begging me for a grandbaby or any of that, I just want to make sure that it’s the right decision.”
